In a bowl, whisk milk, water and egg whites, then stir in oil, sugar and salt. Add yeast and gradually incorporate flour until a soft dough forms.
Cover the dough and leave it in a warm place until it doubles in size.
Divide the risen dough into mandarin-sized pieces, roll them into balls, then gently flatten each one.
Spread about 1 teaspoon of butter on each flattened piece.
Make shallow cuts, roll the dough into a log, and twist into a ring shape.
Place the shaped pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Brush the pastries with beaten egg yolk and sprinkle nigella seeds and sesame seeds on top.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20 minutes, or until golden.
Let them cool briefly before serving.
