Heat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper to help the coating stay tidy.
In a wide bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder until evenly blended.
Dredge each chicken piece in the seasoned flour. Shake off the extra so the coating stays light and bakes evenly.
Place the chicken in a single layer with a little space between pieces. Avoid stacking so the surface can dry and crisp.
Bake for about 40 minutes. Start checking color around minute 30; thicker pieces may need a few extra minutes. Make sure the chicken is fully cooked through.
Let it rest for 5 minutes, then serve while warm. A simple salad or roasted vegetables work well on the side.
