Make sure the butter is soft, not melted. If it’s still firm, microwave it for 10–15 seconds just to soften.
Roughly chop the pecans. For extra flavor, toast them in a dry skillet over medium-low heat for 2–3 minutes, stirring often, then let them cool.
In a bowl, stir the softened butter and honey until creamy and well combined. Fold in the pecans and mix so they’re evenly distributed. Add a pinch of salt if you like.
Spoon the mixture into a jar. For a firmer texture, chill for 15–20 minutes. Spread on toast, pancakes, waffles, or serve with fruit slices.
Keep covered in the refrigerator. If it gets too firm to spread, let it sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes before serving.
